i was tagged by the goddess Isis for this meme thing:
Post your best/worst covers and tag some more muppethuggers. Oh and do a linkback to whomever tagged you if it wasn’t me.
okay. i’m a fan of a slightly different genre than you hear over at Isis’ place. but here ya go.
best cover:
Jimi Hendrix covers All Along the Watchtower, originally done by Dylan.
this is a total, dominating win.
worst cover:
Seether covers Careless Whisper, originally by Wham!
and this shit is ALL OVER the radio right now. gross. they should be ashamed of themselves for this pathetic showing.
i’m tagging my fellow student types: AA, JLK, Juniper, and Sci.

JLK & aa: rock on, will be popping by shortly!
BM: you knew Hendrix would top the rankings.
seether is normally decent, but this major fail has put a serious dent in my opinion of them. this does make them damn near laughable as spinal tap…

Speaking of Wham, little sekrit. The best cover of ‘Faith’? By George Michael himself. Here’s what you have to do. Back in the day, you took yerself a 45 single and played it at 33 rpm. Soul version of Faith, we called it. It was fucking awesome. (and also gave you some serious respect for dude’s vocal control…)

Grah, now I’ve got to do it. Gimme some time… I have to think of something worse than Seether or Britney covering “No Satisfaction”…

I gave up after I realized that PiT had remembered Celine Dion’s AC/DC cover before I did.
